Abstract

Background: Cataract is a known complication of Diabetes mellitus (DM) in clinical practice.1,2,3 DM, usually the type 2 (Non-Insulin Dependent Diabetes NIDD) is first diagnosed in some persons when they visit the Ophthalmology clinic.4 The
objective of this report is to draw attention of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) in a child presenting first to the eye clinic with cataract.
